Hawaii Pacific offers this award to new international students arriving on a student visa, and it is worth half of tuition for an autumn start. Transfer, visiting and exchange students cannot apply.
Selection rests on an essay of 500 to 1,000 words or a video of two to five minutes, on the applicant's leadership skills and their plans for advancing intercultural understanding. The university publishes no grade or test threshold. Applications go by email to the international office by 1 March, with decisions in April.
One thing to hold onto: the consortium application form describes participating universities as offering renewable awards covering at least half of tuition, but Hawaii Pacific's own page states a flat 50% of tuition, for the autumn term, non-stackable, with no mention of renewal. The university's own terms are what apply.
