Lamar University pays $40,000 across four years on this band, $8,000 a year toward tuition and $2,000 a year toward on-campus accommodation.
This is the top automatic band, below only the Presidential Scholarship, and unlike that one it needs no application at all.
The route in is what makes Lamar unusual. Domestic applicants need both a grade average and a class rank, but the university lets international applicants qualify on a test score alone, which suits students whose schools issue no rank. The accommodation half is conditional on staying in the residence hall; move out and that portion stops.
