About the Scholarship

Pacific Lutheran University gives every international applicant an automatic merit award of between $8,000 and $32,000 a year. The figure depends on your academic record, so stronger grades move you up the band.

It applies to first-year and transfer applicants alike, whether you are applying from home or from a school or college already inside the United States. PLU sets the amount when it reads your admission file, so there is one application to worry about.

The catch is the gap. Even $32,000 leaves a share of PLU's tuition plus all of your housing, meals and travel. PLU lets you stack other awards on top, including the $2,500 housing grant and the $1,000 visit scholarship, so add up the whole package before you judge the offer.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

A yearly credit against PLU charges, set between $8,000 and $32,000 based on your academic record. Housing, meals, health insurance and travel are yours to fund, although the housing grant and other stackable awards can be added on top.

Eligibility

Open to international students applying as first-year or transfer students. You may be living overseas or already studying at a United States high school or college. PLU publishes this award for international undergraduate entry.

How to Apply

Applying for admission is enough. PLU states that no separate scholarship application is required, and the award level is set from the credentials in your admission file.
