About the Scholarship

The International Achievement Award closes the gap between non-resident and in-state tuition at Southeast Missouri State University, which the university estimates at $8,850 a year for 2026 to 2027.

First-year students need a 3.25 grade average and transfer students a 3.0 with at least 24 transferable credits. There is no application and, unusually, no deadline.

First-year recipients can renew for three further years and transfers for one, in both cases needing a 2.75 grade average and 24 credit hours a year. The award ends if the student becomes a Missouri resident for fee purposes.

Covers the difference between the non-resident and in-state tuition rates, based on 15 credit hours a semester. The university estimates $8,850 a year for 2026 to 2027.

Eligibility

First-year students and students entering through the intensive English pathway need a secondary school grade average of 3.25. Transfer students need a 3.0 average with at least 24 transferable credit hours from an accredited institution. Eligibility ends if the student becomes a Missouri resident for fee purposes.
