The UA Competitive Achievement Scholarship is the larger of the University of Alabama's two premier competitive awards for entering first-year students. UA publishes the value as tuition plus housing plus a $1,000 a year supplemental scholarship, which makes it the biggest package on the out-of-state and international scholarship page after the Presidential Elite award.
What UA looks for is demonstrated achievement, and it names national distinction in a student's intended professional or academic area as an example. That is a high bar, and it rewards a student who has already done something measurable outside the classroom.
Selection comes from a holistic review of the admission application. There is no separate form, no published score cut-off and no interview named on the page.
One award, a handful of recipients a year, so treat it as an upside rather than a plan. Submit the UA admission application by the deadline for your entry term to be considered.
