Think Big is a discount on the fee rather than money in hand. Bristol applies it against tuition at enrolment and states there is no cash alternative, so living costs in Bristol sit entirely outside it.
The undergraduate version is worth more than it first looks because it renews. The discount applies each year full fees are paid, up to four years, as long as an average above 50 per cent is maintained. The master's version covers the first year only. Neither applies during a placement year, a year abroad or any period of suspended study.
One form covers everything. Submitting the international scholarship application puts a candidate in contention for every Think Big award they qualify for, so there is no choosing between them, and candidates holding more than one Bristol offer have to nominate which one the application belongs to.
The trap is the offer deadline rather than the application deadline. An application can go in without an offer, but if no offer has arrived by 24 April the scholarship application is withdrawn. Undergraduates must also make Bristol their Firm choice in UCAS and meet the offer's conditions by 31 August.
Two exclusions to check early: Dental School and Medical School courses are outside the scheme entirely, and a candidate whose tuition is already fully covered by an external award cannot hold one of these.
Applications recur each spring. The 2026 round closed at 10am UK time on Friday 10 April, with outcomes in May, so April is the month to watch and Bristol's page is where the exact day appears.
