About the Scholarship

ULM's Out-of-State Warhawk Scholarship waives $12,100 a year of the out-of-state fee, and it is the only award in this batch with a qualifications table written specifically for international students.

That table does something useful. Where domestic out-of-state applicants must hit an ACT composite of 21 or an SAT of 1060, the international route substitutes an English proficiency test, needing only section scores in English and mathematics alongside a TOEFL of 71, IELTS of 6.0 or Duolingo of 95. For a student whose strength is not an American admission test, that is a materially easier path.

One limit on the transfer route: the 12 credit hours must come from an American institution, so students transferring from a university at home cannot use it.

What It Covers

  • Fees

A fee waiver the university values at $6,050 a semester, or $12,100 a year. It waives the out-of-state fee differential rather than tuition itself.

Eligibility

For international first-year students: a grade average between 2.5 and 4.0, a TOEFL of 71, an IELTS of 6.0 or a Duolingo of 95, an ACT English of 15 or SAT English of 440, an ACT mathematics of 16 or SAT mathematics of 430, and non-Louisiana residency. Language scores must be valid and taken within two years. For international transfer students: non-Louisiana residency, at least 12 college-level hours from an American institution, a cumulative college grade average of 2.5, and eligibility to return to the previous institution.

Eligible Countries

The university publishes a dedicated qualifications section for the international version of this award, covering first-time full-time international first-year students and international transfer students separately.
