About the Scholarship

Rochester pays transfer students who belong to Phi Theta Kappa between $10,000 and $35,000 a year. The society admits students at two-year colleges in the United States, so the route runs through an American community college.

For an international student, that is a deliberate path: start at a community college, earn induction into Phi Theta Kappa, then transfer to Rochester. Rochester states that applicants are considered for merit scholarships regardless of citizenship.

The award is decided during admission review, with no separate form, and it renews each year while you keep satisfactory academic performance and full-time status. Rochester gives one merit scholarship per student, so this becomes your single merit award.
