University of Twente Scholarship (UTS)

OpenPartialMerit-BasedMaster's

About the Scholarship

For a two-year MSc, renewal can match the first-year grant if, by the end of the first year's third quartile, the recipient has an average of at least 7/10 and at least 50% of the European Credits.

The award page links the qualifying MSc programmes. Its explicit EU/EEA exclusion takes precedence over inconsistent country-list entries for Austria, Croatia and Cyprus, which are excluded here. Nationality and fee-status restrictions also apply to applicants from listed territories. Becoming eligible for statutory tuition fees ends scholarship payments.

The published window is 15 October 2026 at 09:00 CET to 1 April 2027 at 16:00 CET. CET is interpreted literally as UTC+1, preserving the page's stated zone rather than substituting Dutch daylight-saving time.

Twente limits recipients to one UT scholarship. The separately listed Kipaji supplement has additional eligibility and requires a UTS application.

What It Covers

  • Other

A contribution to study expenses that recipients allocate themselves. Twente does not pay tuition or other bills on their behalf; recipients must fund the remaining costs.

Eligibility

Applicants must rank in the top 5–10% of their graduating class, hold provisional admission to an eligible September 2027 MSc, have a student number and meet applicable visa conditions. Current UT students, UT graduates, ITC faculty MSc applicants, pre-Master applicants and UT pre-Master students progressing to an MSc are excluded. Academic IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90 is required, including speaking scores of 6.0 or 20 respectively.

Eligible Countries

Applicants must be non-EU/EEA and not Dutch. Being from a listed territory does not override nationality restrictions. Eligibility for statutory tuition fees or a Dutch study loan also disqualifies applicants.
