Utah State University set up the Afton B. Tew International Student Scholarship in memory of Afton Tew, who spent more than two decades running programmes for international students and their families on the Logan campus. It goes to incoming international undergraduates who arrive with strong school results.
The money is modest and precise. It takes $1,000 a year off the non-resident international tuition rate, and the scholarship listing shows it running for one to four years. With tuition and fees estimated at $29,222 for the 2026 to 2027 academic year, treat it as a useful discount on a large bill.
The effort required is close to zero. Submit a complete admission application by the semester deadline, show English proficiency, and USU considers you automatically if your evaluated GPA is 3.85 or higher. You need to be studying in person on the Logan campus to keep it.
