The Civic Innovators Fellowship is a free, fully virtual 8-week program run by Civics Unplugged that blends history and civics with emerging technology and personal development to equip high school students to drive new solutions and grow as leaders in their communities. During the program, Fellows learn about topics ranging from artificial intelligence and digital citizenship to human-centered design and the future of journalism. The fellowship gathers approximately 750 passionate young leaders each year from all 50 U.S. states and over 100 countries. Upon completion, Fellows become eligible to apply for tuition-free in-person academies (previously held at Georgetown and UCLA), paid mentorship roles, and the Civic Innovation Lab, a business incubator for young changemakers.
