About the Program

MCM/ICM (Mathematical Contest in Modeling / Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling) is a mathematical modeling contest run by COMAP, a non-profit organization focused on mathematics education. It is open to high school students and college undergraduates. Teams of up to three students choose one of six open-ended problems and submit a written solution as a single PDF.

Teams have up to three students currently enrolled in the same school, which must be the primary full-time provider of the members' education (tutoring centers and test-prep services do not count). Each team needs an advisor, who can be any faculty member, staff member, or student at the team's institution.
