About the Program

VEX V5 Robotics Competition Push Back is played on a 12’ x 12’ square field. Two Alliances of two Teams each compete in matches consisting of a fifteen second Autonomous Period, followed by a one minute and forty-five second Driver Controlled Period. The object is to attain a higher score than the opposing Alliance by Scoring Blocks in Goals, Controlling zones within Goals, clearing Loaders, and Parking in defined zones at the end of the Match.

The 2025-2026 World Championship takes place April 21-30, 2026 at America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis, MO (V5RC High School: April 21-24; V5RC Middle School: April 25-27). The 2026-2027 season game reveal is scheduled for April 24, 2026 at the World Championship, with the Game Manual expected to be released April 27, 2026. Registration for the 2026-2027 season is expected to open in April 2026.

Eligibility

Middle School division: students born after May 1, 2010 (age 15 or younger at Worlds 2026). High School division: students born after May 1, 2006 (age 19 or younger at Worlds 2026). Teams are age-based, not grade-based.

How to Apply

Teams register online through RobotEvents.com. Season registration opens in April each year (2025-2026 season opened April 16, 2025) with a deadline in December (2025-2026 deadline: December 19, 2025). The 2026-2027 season game reveal is scheduled for April 24, 2026 at the World Championship; registration for that season is expected to open in April 2026.
