Sony World Photography Awards: Youth Competition

About the Program

The Sony World Photography Awards: Youth Competition is open to photographers aged 19 and under. Participants can submit up to three images taken during the competition year, with complete creative freedom — there is no set theme. A shortlist of up to 10 photographers will be selected to compete for the Youth Photographer of the Year title. The overall winner receives Sony digital imaging equipment, flights and accommodation to the London awards ceremony, a certificate, trophy, global press exposure, a copy of the annual book, and inclusion in the exhibition. The competition is free to enter.

Eligibility

Images must be taken in the year of the competition cycle and should reflect complete creative freedom — there is no set theme. Images should be no smaller than 1MB and no larger than 5MB, in JPEG format, and saved in the sRGB colour model. Manipulation is allowed, but the extent must be described in the image description. Entrants must be the sole owner and author of each entry. 19 and under on the closing date of the competition.

How to Apply

To enter, you must upload your image via the World Photography Organisation Website or any of the official Sony World Photography Award websites and follow the on-screen instructions carefully. Each entrant can submit up to three images for free. If under 16, parental or legal guardian consent is required.
