About the Scholarship

Austin College awards up to $33,000 a year automatically, with no separate application, on a grade average it recalculates itself from six subject areas.

That recalculation matters: your own transcript average is not what is assessed, and advanced coursework is weighted. The college states the award is purely merit-based with no connection to financial need.

Two limits. It can only be applied to tuition, and a student may hold only one further institutional award alongside it. The college is need-aware for international admission and offers them no need-based aid, so this and one talent award is the realistic ceiling.

Up to $33,000, renewed annually for a maximum of eight semesters. Institutional scholarships may only be applied to tuition, and a student may receive only one institutional award in addition to the general academic scholarship. The college states it cannot review applications for autumn entry from international students received after 1 March.

Eligibility

Holistic review using a grade average the college recalculates itself from English, mathematics, social sciences, science, languages and fine arts, with weighting for advanced coursework. The transcript average is not used directly. The college states these awards are purely merit-based and not connected to financial need.

How to Apply

No separate application. Early action closes 1 November with notification by 15 December, a second round closes 1 February, and regular decision closes 1 March. International applications for autumn entry cannot be reviewed after 1 March.
