About the Scholarship

The #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship gives two incoming international students a year $14,000 each at Ball State, renewable for up to eight semesters.

It is decided on a short essay or video about leadership in your school or community, not on grades, which makes it reachable for students whose transcript does not carry them. Renewal needs only a 2.5 grade average, and an award that lapses can be reinstated once the average recovers.

Two places a year makes this genuinely competitive, so treat it as an addition to a plan rather than the plan.

What It Covers

Tuition

$14,000 a year, $7,000 a semester, for a maximum of eight semesters, paying institutional charges for non-resident tuition. Two are awarded a year and both are renewable.

Eligibility

Admission to an on-campus associate or bachelor's degree programme as an incoming first-year international student. Renewal needs full-time enrolment and a cumulative grade average of at least 2.5, checked at the end of spring; if it falls below, the award lapses but can be reinstated on request once the average recovers.

Eligible Countries

The university states awards are open to incoming first-year international students, meaning those who are not American citizens or permanent residents.
