Butler University's Compass Center Scholarship pays $4,000 a year to students engaged in interfaith and cross-worldview work, and explicitly does not require the recipient to hold a faith.
The university states scholars need not have a religious or spiritual affiliation themselves, only an appreciation for engaging with people of different perspectives. Selection looks for participation in at least two of leadership, religious exploration, interfaith engagement, and service or social justice work.
It asks for 10 hours a semester of interfaith engagement on campus to renew, and fewer than ten are awarded a year.
