The Moriello Scholarship adds US$8,000 a year for four years to one incoming business student's package at DeSales University. It was funded by Nicholas and Carissa Moriello for the Waterbury Reilly School of Business, and it sits on top of whatever academic merit scholarship you already receive, so the combined effect on a bill can be large.
You have to want the business route and say why convincingly. The application asks for a form, a resume and a two-page essay on your interest in a business career. The committee shortlists finalists, interviews them and picks one winner, so treat the essay as the whole case rather than a formality.
Holding the award depends on a cumulative 3.0 GPA for all four years at DeSales. Institutional money at DeSales is applied to tuition only, which means housing, food and fees remain yours to cover, and international applicants are still asked for a statement of finances covering a full year of costs.
DeSales sets the deadline in late January for the incoming first-year class. The published date moves each cycle, so read the current scholarships page before the new year and build the essay in December.
