The Academic Merit Scholarship is the lower of Indiana State University's two first-year awards open to international students, paying $1,000 a year to applicants with a grade average of at least 3.25.
As with the Academic Distinction Scholarship, students whose costs are paid by a sponsor or who use an admission agent are excluded.
Consideration is automatic on admission, and the award renews for up to three further years.

A cumulative grade average of at least 3.25 on a four-point scale with a college-preparatory curriculum. Not open to online-only or returning students.
International students whose costs are paid by a sponsor such as a government, company or foundation, or who are working with an agent for admission, are not eligible.
No separate application. All admitted first-year students are considered automatically.
