Cur Non Scholarships are Lafayette College's broader band of merit awards, published at $17,500 to $31,500 a year. The name comes from the Marquis de Lafayette's motto, and the college uses these awards to recognise applicants with intellectual energy and a record of action in their own communities.
International applicants are in scope. Lafayette's international student FAQ states that international students are eligible to receive merit scholarships, and every merit decision is made by the Admissions Office from the application you have already submitted.
Like the Marquis awards, a Cur Non Scholarship is granted annually for up to eight semesters of full-time study and requires no separate form. Recipients find the amount in their acceptance letter, whether they applied early decision I, early decision II or regular decision.
Against tuition of $70,486 for 2026-27, a Cur Non Scholarship covers a useful slice rather than the whole bill. Applicants who also file the CSS Profile can receive need-based aid up to their demonstrated need, which is how most international students at Lafayette end up with a workable package.
