About the Scholarship

Oklahoma State adds $5,000 a year, $20,000 across a degree, for international first-year students whose parent or grandparent graduated from the university.

It turns on family connection rather than merit or need, which is why no basis is recorded here, and it needs an alumni legacy certification form alongside the admission application.

It does not stack. The university allows only one tuition waiver scholarship a semester, so this replaces the International Achievement award rather than adding to it.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

$5,000 a year, $20,000 across four years. The award waives tuition only, not fees, in autumn and spring, and cannot be used in summer. On an out-of-state award the university waives out-of-state tuition up to half the award each semester, leaving in-state tuition, any remaining out-of-state tuition and all fees payable. A student may hold only one tuition waiver a semester.

Eligibility

Having a parent or grandparent who graduated from the university. Renewal needs full-time enrolment each autumn and spring and an overall grade average of 2.00, with no probationary period.

Eligible Countries

The university states it offers scholarships to qualified international undergraduates, that awards vary from $5,000 to $15,000 an academic year, and that international students are considered automatically on submitting a completed admission application.
