Spelman's Presidential Scholarship goes to five scholars in each entering class. It pays tuition, fees and the equivalent cost of room and board for four academic years, whether you live on campus or off.
Five awards across a whole class makes this one of the hardest things to win at Spelman. Selection is based on your academic profile, your service and your leadership, as read from the admission application.
The cost to you in effort is a single strong application. There is no separate scholarship form, and the answer comes with your admission decision in the SpelCheck portal.
For an international student the catch is everything the award leaves out: flights, health insurance and personal spending, with no need-based aid behind it, since Spelman offers its international students merit scholarships only.
