About the Scholarship

SUNY Plattsburgh gives $5,000 a year to every accepted international student, first-year or transfer, and renews it each year of attendance.

The college is unusually direct about the limits: it says it offers partial scholarships to 100 per cent of accepted international students, that it does not offer full scholarships, and that packages cover between 20 and 40 per cent of total cost.

Note that the college also runs a domestic award called the Cardinal Scholarship worth $3,500 a year, which requires paying the in-state rate. It is a different award despite the near-identical name.
