University of Missouri-Columbia
The Cherng Summer Scholars programme pays $7,000 plus a $1,000 project account for nine weeks of summer research at the University of Missouri.
Be clear about the timing. This is not reachable in your first application cycle: it needs existing Honors College membership, a 3.5 grade average, prior research experience and a university login, so the earliest entry is after a year on campus.
Scholars commit to the full nine weeks and cannot enrol in other coursework during the programme.
A $7,000 award plus access to a $1,000 research or creative project expense account. It is a one-time nine-week summer programme and does not renew.
Active membership of the Honors College in good standing with a grade average of 3.5 or higher, and prior or current research or creative scholarship experience. Scholars must complete the full nine weeks and cannot take other coursework during it.
The university states international students applying for autumn entry are eligible to apply for certain scholarships and fellowship programmes offered through its Honors College, naming ASH Scholars, Discovery Fellows and Cherng Scholars. The university writes the award's name as Cherng Scholars on its international page and Cherng Summer Scholars on the award's own page.
Through the university's scholarship portal, which needs an existing university login. Materials are a personal statement of about a page, project information with faculty mentor details and a proposal of about two pages with a timeline, an academic profile, a resume and a faculty mentor recommendation. Recommendation letters are due 15 February.
Confirm the scholarship application deadline in the Mizzou portal. The public page gives February 15 for recommendation letters only, which does not establish the deadline to begin a new application.
