The Pearson is a full ride in the literal sense: tuition, books, incidental fees and residence, for four years. Around 37 are awarded a year.
The part that decides most outcomes happens before the student writes anything. A school nominates, and it may nominate one student per year, so the first competition is inside your own school and the university never sees candidates who do not clear it. That nomination closes on 9 October 2026 for September 2027 entry.
Two more deadlines follow in quick succession: the University of Toronto admission application by 16 October, then the scholarship application itself by 6 November. Missing the nomination makes the later two irrelevant, which is why the order matters more here than the final date.
Eligibility is defined by study permit rather than by passport. Anyone who needs a permit to study in Canada can be considered, while Canadian citizens and permanent residents cannot. Candidates must be in their final year of senior secondary school in 2026/2027 or have graduated no earlier than June 2026.
One rule to take literally: the university disqualifies candidates who use generative AI to compose the scholarship application.
The scholarship page was checked on 16 September 2026.
