About the Scholarship

The University of Vermont adds $1,000 a year, up to $4,000, for making an official campus visit before 1 November of your final school year.

Read the conditions before planning around it. The university requires a visit coordinated by its admissions office and states plainly that a self-guided, informal, group or school visit does not qualify. There is no virtual route, unlike the equivalent award at some other universities, so this means travelling to Vermont before applying.

For most applicants abroad the trip costs more than the award returns. It is recorded here for completeness and for students already in the United States.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

$1,000 a year, renewable for up to four years and $4,000 in total. There is no grade requirement to renew, only continued full-time enrolment.

Eligibility

An official visit coordinated by the admissions office, completed by 1 November of the final year of school. The university states a self-guided, informal, group or school visit does not qualify. Applies to autumn 2027 and autumn 2028 entry.

Eligible Countries

The university states these scholarships need no separate application from prospective first-time first-year undergraduates who are out-of-state residents or international, and its admissions page states international students are eligible for merit scholarships of up to $30,000 a year. The award's own block names first-time first-year and transfer students rather than international students specifically, so its international coverage comes from the page's opening statement.
