UW-Stout's #YouAreWelcomeHere award is worth half the university's published non-resident tuition rate, excluding fees, and renews for up to four years. Only first-year international undergraduates entering in autumn on an F-1 visa can apply; transfer students cannot.
Selection turns on leadership rather than grades. Applicants submit either a 500 to 1,000 word essay or a short video describing their leadership skills and how they plan to use them to advance intercultural understanding. Keeping the award means holding a 3.0 GPA, staying full time in autumn and spring, and taking part in cultural sharing activities on campus and in the surrounding community.
A student offered both this and UW-Stout's International Student Tuition Scholarship has to pick one; they cannot be stacked.
