Wabash College awards Presidential International Scholarships of up to $48,000 a year to international applicants, judged on the overall strength of the admissions application. With tuition at a small Indiana liberal arts college, an award at the top of that range covers most of the bill.
Wabash states in its mission that it is an independent liberal arts college for men, so this is an award for men applying for a bachelor's degree.
The effort asked of a student is low. There is no separate scholarship form, the decision comes from the admissions file, and the amount appears on the admission letter. Priority goes to applicants whose file is complete by 15 January.
The award renews for up to eight semesters, conditional on Satisfactory Academic Progress. Wabash does not publish how many students receive the top figure, so treat $48,000 as the ceiling rather than the usual offer.
