Wartburg College awards international students $13,000 to $20,500 a year, weighing academic record, participation in music, sport or drama, community service and financial need together.
The deadlines pay. Applying by 15 November adds $500 a year automatically, and completing the scholarship interview adds another $500 guaranteed. The January round still carries the $500 for applying, but there the interview bonus comes only as the budget allows, so the earlier date is worth money.
Two conditions to plan for. Students are expected to live on campus to keep full eligibility, and the college requires its own financial aid form or the CSS Profile rather than the American federal form. The 480 threshold is the paper test score for the college's bridge programme, whose students are formally admitted to the degree and so meet the scholarship's admission precondition; 550 is the higher bar for regular admission, not for the scholarship.
