The ASBE Foundation High School Design Challenge is an annual automotive design competition that gives high school students the chance to apply real-world design and engineering skills to automotive problems. Run by the American Society of Body Engineers (ASBE) Foundation, the challenge reinforces classroom curriculum while connecting students with industry professionals.
Two competition categories:
Design Concept Students propose creative, aesthetic solutions to an automotive design problem. Submissions may be freehand sketches, computer renderings, scale models, or a combination. A written description explaining the design progression is required. Orthographic drawings are not needed for this track.
Engineering Design Students develop functional engineering solutions considering innovation, functionality, appearance, and mounting/attachments. Submissions must be properly executed engineering drawings using orthographic projection on paper.
