About the Program

Dartmouth Precollege Summer Scholars is a two-week academic program on Dartmouth College's campus in Hanover, New Hampshire, for high school students ages 15–18. Students choose from courses across business, engineering, medicine, humanities, sciences, and leadership — taught by Dartmouth faculty. No college credit is offered.

2026 sessions (approximately 2 weeks each):

  • Session 1: June 28–July 10
  • Session 2: July 5–17
  • Session 3: July 12–24
  • Session 4: July 26–August 7
  • Session 5: August 1–14

Sessions overlap, allowing students to choose a window that works best. The Leadership Institute runs across four overlapping sessions: July 12–24, July 19–31, July 26–August 7, and August 2–14.

  • Residential: +$379 (includes US health/medical insurance and airport transfers)

Application: $100 non-refundable fee; fee waivers available for students with financial hardship. Rolling admissions — early deadline December 16.

Financial aid: Dartmouth maintains a Precollege Summer Scholars Fund to reduce financial barriers for academically qualified students; contact the program directly for details.

International students: Welcome from any country. English proficiency must be demonstrated via test scores, an English-language school transcript, or a video interview.

Apply at precollege.dartmouth.edu/apply; rolling admissions with early deadline December 16, regular January 27, extended March 24; $1,500 deposit due within 10 days of acceptance; full balance due April 1; international students pay additional $239 (commuter) or $379 (residential) registration fee covering US health insurance
