The Diana Award is a prestigious annual recognition program honoring outstanding young people aged 16-24 from across the globe who are creating and sustaining positive social change in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales. Since 2020, the Award has recognized recipients in over 80 countries across six continents, with up to 200 exceptional young people honored each year.
Nominees must have been leading sustained social action or humanitarian work for at least 12 months, with their efforts aligned with one or more UN Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education, Good Health & Wellbeing, Reduced Inequality, or Climate Action. Projects are especially valued when they benefit socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
The Award is not self-nominated; a nominator must know the young person in a professional capacity and demonstrate their impact. Successful recipients receive a certificate of recognition, placement on the Diana Award Roll of Honour, participation in a virtual global ceremony, and access to a network of young leaders and peer-led "Conversations for Change" sessions. Nominations open annually in October through the Diana Award Nomination Centre.
