About the Program

The XTF Global Innovation Challenge is a free annual international research competition organized by the Xccelerate Technologies Foundation, open to students aged 13–24 worldwide. Participants conduct original research in one of eight technology tracks: AI & Machine Learning, Climate & Sustainability, BioTech & Health, Robotics & Hardware, Quantum & Computing, Space & Aerospace, Cybersecurity & Privacy, and Social Innovation Tech.

Submissions consist of a research paper, video presentation, and supporting materials, evaluated on scientific rigor (25%), originality (20%), impact and relevance (20%), execution and craft (20%), and communication (15%). Judging uses blind first-round review. Cash prizes are awarded to a Grand Champion, eight Track Winners, 24 Division Winners, and 48 Runners-Up, plus First-Time Researcher and Educator prizes. Finalists receive travel, visa support, and accommodation for the Grand Finals in Geneva; winning work is published in XTF Proceedings with two-year mentor matching.

The 2026 cycle runs March 1 – August 31 (submission deadline). Shortlists are announced October 1, virtual semi-finals are November 7, and the Grand Finals take place December 5–6 in Geneva. Seed grant applications are accepted on May 1 and July 15 for teams needing research funding.

Eligibility
