Aalto waives the whole tuition fee for the normative length of the degree, three years for a bachelor's and two years for a master's, so this is the entire fee rather than a first-year discount that lapses. What the fee is worth depends on where you are admitted: EUR 12,000 a year for bachelor's business and technology, up to EUR 20,000 a year for master's art and architecture.
Living costs sit outside the award. Plan for them separately, including the funds you must show for a Finnish residence permit.
The operational detail matters more than the eligibility here. There is no separate scholarship application and no later window: the admission form carries the option to apply, and Aalto states plainly that you cannot apply for a scholarship once the application period has closed. A student who submits the admission application without ticking it has given up the award for that cycle.
Only students liable for tuition fees can apply, which means citizens from outside the EU and EEA. EU/EEA citizens pay no tuition at Aalto and so have nothing to waive.
The scholarship terms and tuition fees, the bachelor's application period and the master's application period were checked on 15 September 2026.
