Central Michigan University charges international undergraduates $22,050 in tuition and fees for 2026-2027. The International President's Award moves you onto the United States resident tuition rate instead, which CMU values at a saving of $9,024 a year at the lower-level rate and $8,952 at the upper-level rate.
The bar is a GPA of 3.3 or higher on the United States 4.0 scale plus proof of English proficiency. Transfer students also need at least 24 completed college credits. CMU says more than a third of eligible international freshmen avoid the full international rate because of awards like this one.
Nothing is required beyond the admission application. CMU considers every international applicant automatically, writes no extra essay into the process, and gives you the highest award you qualify for. Students funded by their home government are excluded.
The award touches tuition only, so budget separately for housing and food at $13,360, health insurance at $1,600 and books and personal costs at $3,500.
