The Czech Republic funds master's and doctoral study for students from a list of developing countries that it publishes with each annual call, under a scheme run by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
Tuition is covered for the standard length of the degree at Czech public universities, and the stipend is paid monthly, with doctoral students receiving substantially more than master's students. Accommodation, food and transport come out of that stipend on the same terms as for Czech students, and travel to and from the Czech Republic is explicitly not covered.
Students on the Czech-taught track begin with a funded year of Czech language and preparatory study at Charles University, waived for anyone who already holds Czech at B2. Doctoral study is offered in English only, and the programme does not currently offer bachelor's-level study.
Applications run through one national portal, followed by an interview at the Czech embassy responsible for the applicant's country. The current call closes on 30 September 2026, for study starting in 2027/2028.
