About the Scholarship

Drexel awards this merit scholarship with the admission decision, so the only thing you submit is the admission application itself. Early Decision and Early Action applicants are considered for $20,000 to $35,000 a year, and Regular Decision applicants for $10,000 to $35,000, with the figure set by the Admissions Committee on academic strength.

Drexel states the award is open to domestic and international applicants, which makes it one of the clearer merit routes for a student on an F-1 visa. The money is applied to tuition only.

One feature worth planning around is Drexel's co-op calendar. The scholarship is applied in class terms and pauses during terms you spend on co-op, so the annual figure maps to the terms you are actually taking courses. Keeping full-time enrolment renews it for the remaining years of the degree.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

Applied to tuition in every class term while you stay enrolled full time. The scholarship pauses during co-op terms, and housing, dining, books and health insurance are paid separately.

Eligibility

Incoming first-year and transfer applicants, judged on superior academic performance by the Admissions Committee. Drexel lists eligibility as domestic and international applicants. Students seeking a second bachelor's degree, and anyone who already holds a graduate or professional degree, are ineligible. Transfer applicants who qualify for the Drexel Promise Scholarship are considered for that award instead. It renews across the rest of the degree as long as you keep full-time status in class terms.
