Eckerd College
Eckerd College attaches a stipend of up to $1,000 to a research associateship for about 25 first-year students, selected on the secondary school record.
The research position is worth more than the stipend for most students: it puts a first-year undergraduate into departmental research immediately, which is unusual.
It is explicitly a one-year award and does not renew. Applications close on 1 February.
