About the Scholarship

Erasmus+ is the European Union's programme for education, training, youth, and sport. Its student mobility strand funds a study period or traineeship abroad for students already enrolled at a participating university.

Grants are administered by home universities and national agencies rather than centrally, so grant levels and deadlines depend on the destination country group and the student's institution. Students with fewer opportunities and students with disabilities or health conditions receive additional support on top of the standard grant.

Students who want to take part should contact their university's international or Erasmus office, which handles nomination, learning agreements, and payment.

Eligibility follows enrolment at a participating institution, not EU nationality. The programme's associated countries also include Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Türkiye and Serbia. Participation from other countries depends on the applicable action and institutional agreements. These requirements were checked on 13 September 2026.

What It Covers

  • Living stipend
  • Travel

A monthly grant that varies by destination country group, with top-up support for students with fewer opportunities and for students with disabilities or health conditions.

Eligibility

Enrolment at a participating institution at bachelor's, master's, or doctoral level. Selection is handled by the home university, which sets its own academic criteria. Additional funding is available for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and for students with physical, mental, or health-related conditions.

Eligible Countries

Eligibility depends on enrolment at a higher education institution participating in Erasmus+, rather than EU citizenship. The sending and receiving institutions must have the required Erasmus+ agreement; students should confirm eligibility through their home institution.
