About the Scholarship

The Global Leadership Scholarship covers full tuition at Kalamazoo College and exists only for incoming international first-year students, which makes it one of the strongest awards in this directory.

It is competitive: the college awards a limited number and recipients cannot hold any additional merit scholarship from it. Against tuition and fees of $63,426 it covers tuition alone, not housing or food.

One practical warning. The college publishes two incompatible descriptions of how to apply, both dated within the same fortnight. One says an admission interview is all that is needed; the other requires a separate application, a leadership resume, a 300-word essay and a recommendation letter, and cites an admission decision date from the previous cycle. Only the 1 November deadline appears on both, so confirm the process directly.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

Full tuition, renewed all four years based on the current cost of attendance. It applies to tuition only, not the full cost of attendance. Recipients are not eligible for any additional merit scholarship from the college.

Eligibility

Entry as an incoming first-year international student. Awarded on academic merit, and the college calls these prestigious awards recognising academic achievement. Need-based aid remains possible only if the international student financial aid application is filed with the admission application by the deadline.

Eligible Countries

The college states it awards a limited number of full-tuition Global Leadership Scholarships to incoming first-year international students. The award exists only for international students.

How to Apply

Apply for admission by 1 November under early decision or early action. Beyond that the college publishes two different requirement lists on two pages, one requiring only an admission interview and the other a separate scholarship application, a one-page leadership resume, a 300-word essay on global leadership and a letter of recommendation. Confirm the current requirements with the admissions office before relying on either.
