About the Scholarship

Kalamazoo College gives every applicant who graduated from a United World College $44,000 to $52,000 a year, guaranteed rather than competitive.

It stacks with two further awards the college gives UWC applicants: a $15,000 Davis Scholarship and, for non-American citizens, a $10,000 Van Dolson Scholarship. Together those three reach well beyond what the college's ordinary merit ladder pays.

The gate is narrow and specific: graduation from one of the eighteen United World College campuses, not nationality.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

$44,000 to $52,000 a year, which every UWC applicant receives. The college's general merit range moved to a $53,000 ceiling more recently, so this figure may trail it, but $52,000 is the only ceiling published under this award's name. It stacks with the college's Davis and Van Dolson awards. The college is need-aware and states families generally must be able to pay $25,000 to $35,000 a year, with the average international package covering roughly 55 to 65 per cent of a total cost of $82,452. International students who do not file its aid forms at admission should expect no need-based aid for four years.

Eligibility

Entry as a first-year student who graduated from a United World College. The college states every UWC applicant receives it, so it is guaranteed rather than competitive.

Eligible Countries

The college states all United World College applicants receive the Lux Esto Merit Scholarship and the Davis Scholarship. Eligibility turns on having graduated from one of the 18 United World College campuses rather than on nationality.
