Michigan Tech's College of Business offers its own merit award to students from outside Michigan, and the eligibility wording names international students directly alongside transfer students.
The band is wide, from $2,000 up to $20,000 a year for up to four years, and the figure follows the strength of your academic record. At the top of the band it is a substantial cut of non-resident tuition, so it is worth knowing which business major you intend to declare when you apply.
Consideration is automatic for admitted students in a College of Business major. Renewal depends on staying in a business major, holding a cumulative GPA of 2.50 at the end of each spring semester, enrolling full time at 12 credits or more, and staying in good conduct standing.
The catch is stacking. This award takes the place of the International Ambassador Scholarship rather than adding to it, so compare the two figures in your offer letter and ask the financial aid office which one Michigan Tech has applied.
