Middle Tennessee State pays $16,000 a year to F-1 students entering with a grade average of 3.75 to 4.0, an SAT of 1370 or an ACT of 30, renewable each year.
This is the top of the university's three international bands. Against its own estimate of roughly $45,000 a year all in, it covers a little over a third.
Two things shape whether you get it. The award offsets the out-of-state portion of tuition rather than arriving as cash, and it is made first come, first served against a fixed annual budget of $2,000,000, so applying early matters more than at a university with an ordinary deadline.
