Pepperdine gives $5,000 to active members of a Church of Christ congregation, on a recommendation from a minister, elder or youth minister.
That is worth knowing outside the United States. Churches of Christ have large congregations in Nigeria, Ghana, the Philippines and India, so this reaches students who would not think of it as an American award.
Two caveats sit on this entry. The university's international page names a Church of Christ scholarship among those open to international students, which is the award family rather than this award by name. And its scholarships hub lists an American federal aid form step that the award's own page omits, while imposing one on a sibling award on the same page. The award page is the more specific source, so we read the omission as deliberate.
