Saint Mary's University of Minnesota pays international students $28,000 a year on this tier, for a grade average of 3.40 to 3.77.
The third tier, for first-year students only. Despite the Lasallian Catholic name the university attaches no faith condition to it.
Two conditions shape what it is worth. Living on campus is required, and commuting cuts the award by $4,000. And the award covers tuition only against a total cost of $60,390, so even the top tier leaves around $30,000 a year to find.
