The Stamps Scholarship at the University of Connecticut is a full cost-of-attendance award renewable for four years, and the only UConn merit scholarship that publishes a figure of that kind. On top of it, recipients receive a one-time $12,000 enrichment award to spend on research and experiential learning, and guaranteed admission to UConn's highly selective Honors Programme.
UConn lists Stamps under 'Available to All Applicants', in contrast to the Nutmeg and Day of Pride scholarships reserved for Connecticut residents and the Global awards reserved for international applicants. It is restricted to the Storrs campus.
The process is the most demanding of any award on this page. You submit the admissions application by 1 November, then a supplemental application through the applicant portal by 8 November, and shortlisted candidates sit an interview with the Admissions Committee and the Stamps Scholars Programme. You may enter only one of Stamps, Nutmeg or Day of Pride, so the choice is part of the strategy.
Two things to plan around. Selection is described as highly competitive, and early decision applicants learn their Stamps result in early February rather than in December with their admission. Recipients also join the national network of Stamps Scholars across the partner universities.
