The University of Missouri pays Discovery Fellows $7,000 a year for research work, renewable once, and gives international applicants a later deadline than domestic ones.
That detail is easy to miss and works in your favour: domestic applicants must apply by 1 December, while the university states international applicants can apply through its scholarship portal until 1 February.
It is research funding rather than tuition support, asking six to eight hours a week on a faculty-mentored project. Note the university's index page still shows an older $3,000 figure; the programme page carries the current one.
