About the Scholarship

The Global Excellence Scholarship pays $15,000 a year toward tuition at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, matching the Global Laureate award in value.

It differs in how you get it. The university publishes no application route, no deadline and no admissions page for this one, and describes it as created for the purpose of global partnerships. In practice that suggests it reaches students through partner institutions rather than open application.

If your school or university has a partnership with Nebraska, ask about it directly. Otherwise the Laureate, Ambassador and Delegate awards are the ones to plan around.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

$15,000 toward tuition an academic year, credited as $7,500 a semester, for students enrolling in at least 15 credit hours a semester. Renewable for three further years. A student may hold only one Global scholarship, and these do not stack with other campus-wide merit awards or tuition reciprocity.

Eligibility

Enrolment in at least 15 credit hours a semester. Renewable for three further years on a cumulative grade average of 3.000 measured at the end of each spring semester, 24 credits completed each academic year, full-time enrolment registered by the sixth day of classes, and continued non-resident status. No reapplication is needed.

Eligible Countries

The university states the scholarship was created for the purpose of global partnerships, identifying and rewarding the most talented students from countries other than the United States who choose to attend.

How to Apply

No application route is published. Unlike Nebraska's three other Global awards this one has no page in the admissions scholarship finder, and it is tied to global partnerships, so it appears to be awarded through partner institutions rather than by open application.
