About the Scholarship

LSU New Orleans gives incoming international undergraduates up to $2,000 a year, up to $8,000 across four years, on a 3.0 grade average.

It is a modest award, and worth being clear about why: the university's larger scholarships, including the $75,000 Homer Hitt, sit in a section headed for domestic undergraduates with no statement that an international student can receive them.

Two practical notes. The university has rebranded from the University of New Orleans and its old web address now redirects, so you may see both names. And institutional awards go only to students entering in autumn or summer, never spring.

What It Covers

  • Tuition

Up to $2,000 an aid year and up to $8,000 across four years. The university publishes it as a ceiling rather than a fixed amount, and does not spell out the renewal terms for later years.

Eligibility

A non-weighted cumulative grade average of 3.0. The university states all international students must complete the SAT, ACT or COMPASS. Institutional scholarships go only to new students entering in autumn or summer; continuing students are not eligible.

Eligible Countries

The award sits in a section headed for international undergraduates, first-time and full-time, whether first-year or transfer. The university marks it as one awarded without the American federal aid form on file, which international students cannot file.
