UNG charges out-of-state tuition to international students, and this waiver is the main way to bring that cost down. A full waiver drops you to the Georgia in-state rate, and a half waiver puts you halfway there. UNG puts the four-year saving at $25,000 to $50,000.
The award is competitive and based on academic performance and test scores, with the bar set by whoever else applies that year. It can run for up to ten semesters if you meet the renewal criteria, so it is worth treating as a four-year decision rather than a one-year discount.
Two practical points. You apply after you have been admitted, using a short form on UNG's enrolment portal, and you need a UNG ID and UNG email address to complete it. UNG also asks international students to check with the Center for Global Engagement first, because the waiver requires that you are legally present in the United States and hold no other UNG tuition waiver.
